Jazz married
:)
The day before wedding, we actually had a small quarrel over some small logistics issue. It was perhaps just a few minutes before the clock strucks 12am, 08-11-2008.
But, we moved on.
The wedding day came in a rush. Literally. I was monitoring the time. Who's here and who's late and what is going to happen next.
But, am i glad my brothers took care of everything for me.
They are my 贵人。
:)
The usual "bang-door-get-the-bride" went on without much of a glitch. It was hot doing some of the dance and stunts but we pretty much enjoyed the process.
I prepared my first surprise for Linda, a song with accompaniment. We couldn't match Linda's singing but we won with sincerity. :)
The bride was happy and, so was I.
My most emotional moments? When my Dad started to lit the joss sticks and pray to my deceased grandfathers and grandmothers, I felt a strong gush of emotions. Finally... This is the day...
The wedding ceremony ended with a buffet and more photo-taking. In no time, both of us were in Trader's Hotel for our first night stay.
We were completely exhausted by then.
How could other couples do a wedding dinner on the same night? Sounds pretty impossible... at least to us.
The second night's program was a merger of science and art. I needed precision to carry out the different programs and art to bring out the emotions and fun factor.
Am i glad that i got the right people to do the job! The best of the best in science and arts!
The result? The audience enjoyed the night and we, had a memorable time with all the wonderful people we cared about. :)
I will try to put up more updates with audio and visual materials as we received them...
Till the, watch this space. :)

12 more days

hi there,
It is now 12 more days to our wedding, and if you're keeping tabs on our wedding, I am happy to announce that, there are no further changes to the place and time. haha....
Just a reminder, though.
1. Date: 9th Nov 2008 (Think 911, if it keeps slipping your mind; our tea ceremony is on 8th Nov, so jiemeis, pls don't get confused!)
2. Time: 1930hrs ( well, its a sunday and you may have plenty of housework to do, but do try to be early for chit-chat!)
3. Place: Traders Hotel (can't miss it....)
We've invited two extremely talented friends as hosts for the night, whom i believe will bring together a night full of fun and laughter. (haha... hopefully not too much at our expense...)
So, looking forward to catching up with all of you soon!
Our very own music video for the wedding banquet!
Initially i didn't really want to film a video, since i am already in this line and it just feels kind of tired to do up a music video.
Firstly, i have high standards, and it means, i have to work really hard on this piece.
Secondly, i don't really have much time.
But i am glad i had a change of mind. :)
We had fun yesterday while doing some of the cheesy actions for MTV.... hahaha...
Sharing some of the pictures from the shoot, look for the launch on 9th of Nov 2008!
For the past few days, it was raining, so we're glad there is sunshine in the morning.
In this photo, we feature my cameraman, zhi-guang, an old time secondary school mate and his wife, Karen Tang (camera assistant), also a good friend from university days.
And of course, myself, director-actor-everything else....
Whizz!!! The most important characters of the MV - us! heh heh, guess what we're shooting? You will know soon enough....
Although it was just a 1min and 30sec MV, all of us were keen to make it decent. Even the owner of the vespa bike, my trusted insurance and housing agent, Francis Chua, was dead on to make it good. :)
Dance b/w the cameraman and cam assist! We're not the only ones having fun, as you can see!
Ooi you, look out for the music video ok! Its hard work! :)
And with this, we hope you will enjoy the MV on 9th Nov 2008!
Marriage Prep Course

We went for a marriage prep course that we thought was very useful and enlightening.
Each session took about 4-5hrs and we had 3 separate sessions.
Initially, Linda was quite apprehensive about attending the lessons but she tot otherwise after going thru it :)
And we both enjoyed it thoroughly.
Evelyn, our counsellor, was a very patient and thorough person and we learned quite a few insights from her.
Small things like housework, to big matters like financial and in-law relationship were discussed, and i guess as most of us would probably know, it takes a lot of commitment and hardwork after marriage to keep the love alive and to build a strong foundation for a family.
I feel much more confident and aware of the challenges ahead and am i glad i insisted on the course. :)
Maybe Linda can share her thoughts? haha....

Guo Da Li
Just two days ago, I was still filming in Korea.
And now, i am back to sg, moving another step towards marriage.
Guo-Da-Li, literally translated means, the "exercising the 'big' customs".
The process is symbolic. The groom(me) will visit the bride's(linda) home and propose to her parents, for her hand in marriage.
I think in the past, you will need a matchmaker to accompany.
But now, rituals are very much simplified.
As i don't drive, and i need to bring 12 boxes of wedding cakes to my beloved wife's home, my kind brother took half day leave to give me an extra hand. (Thanks bro! :))
It was a simple ceremony. We arrived at the bride's home, handed over the cakes, two pairs of dragon & phoenix candles, oranges and engagement $$.
Everything had to be in even numbers and for good omen, my mother-in-law had to "return" me part of the dowry.
Ok, this is how the candles and cakes look like.
Well, this is already pretty modern. Traditional hokkien, cantonese or teo chew wedding cakes don't look anything like this, and of course will taste nothing like this as well....
I was done in less than 30mins with the ritual. Nothing much really, no fanfare or anything and i spent the rest of the hour or so, gossiping with my mother-in-law.
Talk about building relationship!
haha....
